He claimed that within 10 months of taking office, his administration had played a role in ending or de-escalating at least eight international conflicts. He specifically referenced tensions between India and Pakistan, asserting that his diplomatic efforts helped prevent a potential escalation that could have turned nuclear.
Opposition lawmakers, however, challenged these claims and criticized the administration’s approach to human rights, immigration, and global diplomacy.
Protests Beyond the Capitol
Demonstrations were not limited to inside Congress. Outside in Washington, D.C., protesters gathered to voice opposition to the president’s policies. Activists held signs and chanted slogans calling for accountability and reform.
